mps-youtube is a neat command-line tool for interfacing with youtube. It’s focussed on listening to music, but it also can be used as an annoyance-free way to look up videos on a specific topic.

One thing right ahead: As the userbase of this tool has grown, one is required to use another API-key than the app’s one, so there’s actually some quota left. After creating one, it can be set in .config/mps-youtube/config.json and after removing the cache, it works just fine.

The videos/audio tracks are then played in whatever application you like, although I find mpv is areasonable default.
